~ F.A.Q ~
⧱ Why do you call yourself a 'Multi DISCIPLINE Artist?'
It would seem I'm considered a multi discipline Artist because I create various styles art using multiple skills, such as taxidermy, sewing, carving bone & antler by hand, designing & hand sewing one of a kind (OOAK) collectors bears. It would seem that those who can knit can't necessarily carve bone!
What is preserved Nature?
It's exactly as it sounds, it's something that was once living that's now been cleaned & preserved by myself. Having retired from professional taxidermy for health reasons, I now preserve on a small scale as and when it's required. I no longer take commissions
⧱ Can you tell me how to do taxidermy
Sorry no, I suggest you use Google, there's a wonderful mine of information out there to be found.
⧱ Some of the things you make say OOAK, what does that mean exactly?
OOAK simply means one of a kind, I will never make another 'what ever it is' exactly the same, unique is another word for it.
⧱ What is a Pet MEMENTO or Keepsake?
It means I can carve something that can hold ashes for example, or needle felt pets fur, to create tactile keepsake or memento, or enclose ashes in an especially designed bear.
⧱ Can I come to you to buy something?
I don't have a physical shop, preferring to work within the privacy of my workshop/craft room at home. If you are not too far away you are welcome to call and collect an order, or I might be able to deliver. Both need to be arranged in advance.
⧱ My old bear/ Deer head is in need of repair, can you help?
Usually! Please click on 'Mend' in the header and follow the links provided.
⧱ Do you make things to order?
Yes I can! As long as I can have around a month to make it (to enable me to work round my bad days)
⧱ Do I have to pay a deposit with a commissioned order?
Yes. A minimum of £30 (which is non returnable) is required on all commissioned orders.
